Improving Educational Facilities
Rowta in Assam is known for the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) which provides training and skill development courses to students and trainees from different parts of Assam and other North-eastern States. However, accommodation in the centre slowly turned out to be a challenge and out 350 training capacity at the Institute, there was only a capacity to accommodate only 240 trainees (180 boys and 60 girls).
Thereby, to scale up the volume of training and to provide equal accommodation for women, AIAS laid the foundation of a healthy and comfortable living environment by establishing a two-storey women hostel. The space has provided women suitable living rooms, modern bathrooms, healthy drinking water and electricity which resolved all the challenges that were previously faced by students.
With the new hostel, it has been a great support for people who live in remote areas, children of farmers and their quality of education.
It has also created a loving and nurturing atmosphere in which the girls are
growing as individuals. This has improved the learning environment and also helped the underprivileged women to be a responsible individual towards society and give optimism to future generations.
